Your body consists of Open and Closed Kinematic Chains. For example,
your hand is connected to the forearm/elbow which is further connected
to the upper arm/shoulder and spine, making up a kinematic chain. If any
particular segment in the kinematic chain exhibits aberrant
biomechanical dysfunction or restriction of movement, this often causes
resultant overload on other nearby structures and eventual failure of
that structure , resulting in a particular clinical condition eg
sciatica , tennis elbow , frozen shoulder etc.
The aim of the
Chiropractor is not only to treat your specific condition , but more
importantly, to diagnose and determine the underlying cause of WHY you
developed that specific condition. Once the underlying causative
biomechanical abberant dysfunction has been addressed, this will allow
the kinematic chain to have full restoration of biomechanical
functionality, thereby addressing the root cause of pain and symptoms,
and preventing further recurrence.
